My name is Ashley. I'm 35 years old and I was born and raised in Camden, NJ. I have a 8 year old son and I currently live in Richmond, VA.
 I started writing poetry at the age of 14. My English teacher unbeknownst to me entered my poetry in a school contest. My poem won then became finalist in states and semi-finalist in nationals. With my first published piece of work by 15 I gained a new confidence to write and haven't been able to stop since. 
Other things I'm passionate about include community service, politics, African American empowerment and rights. LGBTQ rights, mental health advocacy and education. 
In my free time I like to hang  and inspire change. I appreciate every single person that takes the time out to read my writing.
