@HeavenLeighAngel Do what I do, go insane. Start thinking up of the absolutely most random stuff ever. Weird events. Almost like you're dreaming. Once you think of something, write it down. Just because you write it down doesn't mean you have a commitment to it. Scratch what you don't like but look over all the things your imagination has come up with. I know you. You have MY imagination. You shouldn't have trouble thinking up of something stupid, just to get the ball rolling. You might just come up with something relatively good. Also, read some stories that are similar to your time period. maybe do some research on the events in the past that are similar to yours in your story. Watch the story's progression, how many times things went wrong, and how they can go wrong. And remember, you really can't mess up because it's YOUR story and nothing is set in stone. There's always the "backspace" button and there's always the "undo" button. :)
