Hey guys, 
My name's Kate and I like to edit. It's really as simple as that. I almost went to school for it, but in fact, I ended up with a bachelor's in Psychology. So, if you're looking for education, that's what I have. XD

At first, I might seem a bit unusual in my approach to editing, especially if you've worked with an editor before. With this in mind, I'm a pretty laid-back person. I love to talk, and you'll probably notice that as soon as we start messaging. I worked in a drive-through for five years, and when you serve 45 cars in 10 minutes by yourself, it's kind of hard to stop talking. 

Do not, however, let this mislead you. I am extremely professional when it comes to these things because writing can be raw and personal and it'd be wrong for anyone to treat it any other way. 

Some people believe that editing is all about making a story sound perfect, which is a part of it, but the real purpose of editing is for your story to be just that, yours. Your voice telling the story of your characters; their hardships and their happiness, to the best of your ability. 

My work is to bring out the best of you in yours.

Because of this, you'll get a lot of comments like 'this doesn't make sense, reword it' or 'This doesn't sound quite right, change it.' I'm not going to tell you what something should be changed to, because then it's me writing and not you. If you can't think of anything, of course, I'll help you come up with ideas, but I'm not going to do the writing for you.
