To me the Discord was Grogar had been a dumb twist so I had an idea in Equestrian Tale for Grogar to actually be the main villain in the show and he knows where Malibu is from. He threatens to enter Malibu’s old world and steal any magic there.

Maybe your idea for the Malibu returning to New York story can be a map quest for him I can do in Season 5 since I really do want him and Rainbow Dash to express their love soon.
