As an author of Historical Romance, I create edgy romantic heroes and heroines who, like all of us, live with blessings as well as turmoil. They are strongly independent and create their own rules apart from society's expectations. Their depth of emotion allows the reader to empathize with their conflicts and urge them towards the love they may have discouraged for the wrong reasons. When they fall in love, they struggle with the part of themselves that fears commitment or is afraid to trust, but in the end love conquers all.
In my first Regency, Regal Reward, York Blackstone seeks revenge for his family's desolation when his father is falsely accused of treason by one of King George's favored aristocrats. Marielle Henley's betrothal to the the son of the villain makes her a perfect pawn in York's retribution. She becomes trapped between loyalties to her betrothed and to her own heart when she becomes York's captive. York will let nothing or no one, not even his alluring captive, stand in his way to clear his father's name and regain his title and lands. A meddling aunt may be the only one to bring the two lovers together.
My second novel, A Convenient Pretense, to be released on April 4th, 2013 and available for pre-order tells the story of a defiant Emily Grace Hughes who believes that spinsterhood is preferable over marriage. When she is forced to go to London for the Season, Marcus Deming, an earl with a rakish reputation and a disdain for intrusive matchmakers becomes a willing participant in a convenient ruse. Their pretense of courtship ends abruptly when Marcus suspects that Emily has played him for a fool. His desire to uncover her secrets leads him to a more devious pretense. Even if he diverts a tragedy, can Marcus and Emily listen to their hearts when their pasts have crippled their beliefs in happy ever after love.
Readers have wanted to hear more of the Blackstone brothers. A Kiss of Promise coming soon tells Martin Blackstone's story.

@annie93 Hi, I am curious to know if stories submitted are all unpublished works in the traditional sense or do traditionally published authors also submit their works chapter by chapter.View all Conversations
