@Electric-Yay aww! it’s okay though, same here. my mother thinks i’m too old to be learning japanese. i’m going to japan not too long from now though. i hope i can use my learned skills there

@lawlietangelic I can. But writing and or typing in Japanese is a whole other story. I started learning late since I moved to the states not long after I was born, so I was busy learning English. Since I've been back in Japan my Mother and Grandma have been teaching me the basics. They think that learning Japanese so late into my life would affect my ability to learn it, basically, they have no hope in my language learning skills.
