Elena is a self-thought writer who specializes in writing business essays, funny and magical stories for children, spiritual thoughts and philosophy. She is daughter of an electrician and a housewife, who run together with her brother a small retail business in their home town. She was born in September 1982 (Libra), she left her native town and moved to the big city to study economics. She is presently working as an auditor. Her business experience was gained working in two multinational companies, where she conducted activities as an external auditor in the financial field, by managing projects and leading teams. She lives in Bucharest now (some call it the little Paris), and paradoxically enough, she lives in an apartment where a well-known Romanian writer also lived. Her middle initial D. comes from her second name Daniela, which would have made her name too long, therefore she considered to write her author name as Elena D. Calin, name which eventually turns out to have a mirroring effect.

In her books she enjoys mixing reality with fantasy, funny moments and psychological, spiritual and philosophical thoughts. She tries to find a special place for each character and introduce them to her audience in her very own, innovative and original way. It`s her belief that we are living in a magical world and she is sure that once we get a sense of the world she depicts in her books, we will feel the same. She is a promoter of positive words. She strongly believes that we can achieve to feel daily happiness when we think with positive words.
