Elizabeth Ruth’s latest novel, Matadora, has received critical acclaim and is a Top 40 selection for CBC Canada Reads 2014. Her first novel, Ten Good Seconds of Silence, was a finalist for the Writers Trust of Canada Fiction Prize, the Amazon.ca Best First Novel Award and the City of Toronto Book Award, and was named a top 10 book of the year by NOW Magazine, the Vancouver Sun, and the London Free Press. Smoke, her second novel, was chosen for the One Book, One Community program and also named a top 10 book of the year by NOW Magazine. She teaches creative writing at the University of Toronto and mentors within The Humber School for Writers Correspondence Program. In addition to publishing Matadora in 2013, Ruth also published a GoodReads novella entitled, Love You To Death. Elizabeth Ruth currently teaches creative writing at the University of Toronto and mentors within the Humber School for Writer's Correspondence Program.
