Hi everyone! Thanks, as always, for your kind support here on Wattpad. :) I'm starting to upload "A Dash of Murder," which is Myrtle Clover #19. After today, I'll be uploading on Wednesdays. More about Myrtle's next adventure:

Food for thought: seasoning with these berries results in a dash of murder.

It's been a quiet autumn so far in the small town of Bradley, North Carolina. Or, as Myrtle would put it, a boring one. The slow pace and lingering post-summer heat are making life in Bradley very slow-paced, indeed.

That all changes when a local resident is poisoned by what looks like a scrumptious pie. The victim is a boorish man who has plenty of enemies in Bradley. Despite this, suspicion falls heavily on Myrtle and Miles's friend—a botanist who grows the deadly nightshade the man was poisoned with.

Can Myrtle and Miles solve the case and help their friend before the killer strikes again?

You can find out more Myrtle books and other info on my website, which is elizabethspanncraig.com . Thanks!

Hello, Miss. Elizabeth! I’ve recently just read and finished your book, “Race to Refuge.” It was amazing, alongside one of the best apocalyptic novels I’ve read.
I’ve come to the realization, scrolling through your profile that you’ve become more keen to working on Mystery books.
I guess that poses the question, and considering it’s been since 2016, if you were considering continuing the Race to Refuge series?
I understand if perhaps you didn’t have any plans to progress the story, or if it was a story you’d written as a one time thing, however I would absolutely love if you’d thought about making a series out of it one day!
The writing was exquisite, providing a balanced amount of detail of the characters, their personalities, and the boarders of their pasts. I felt enthralled reading every chapter through and through, becoming more excited with the next. Towards the end, with the Census, felt like a mystery to me, although at the same time harbored a hope for progressing into a longer storyline. This book has most certainly captured my interest, and to say, with a heavy heart, I have finished the book.
Were you planning on continuing the progression of the storyline in the future?
You’re writing is amazing and entrancing, I would definitely love an update if you wouldn’t mind providing one, whether it’s about the story progressing forward, or if the story has come to a permanent end.
Thank you so much for for the gift of your beautiful writing!
          —Best regards.

Hi @SweetKillur
Your message absolutely made my day! Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and heartfelt response to “Race to Refuge.” I appreciate your enthusiasm for the story and characters.

I’m really a mystery writer in terms of background, but “Race to Refuge” insisted on being written and wouldn’t leave me alone until I had. I wrote the book between other projects I was on deadline for, nearly 10 years ago now. Coincidentally I’ve been making some recent updates to the original book on retail sites in the last couple of weeks, including new backmatter. Your timing in reaching out is on target, as I’ve been contemplating the possibility of returning to this story world.

While I can’t make any firm promises about a sequel at this moment, I want you to know that your insights about the Census and the potential for expanding the storyline really resonate with me. These are exactly the kind of story elements I’d want to explore if I do decide to continue the series. I’m currently evaluating the possibility, keeping in mind both the creative direction and practical considerations (mainly my time since I’ve currently got 4 active series, but also fairness to the story and characters and whether I can do a good job, which is what they deserve).

Your detailed appreciation of the character development and pacing means so much to me. Those were aspects I worked particularly hard on, and it’s rewarding to hear they connected with you so strongly.

Of course I’ll add any updates about “Race to Refuge” here on Wattpad. Your support and enthusiasm for this story world definitely factor into my considerations about its future.

Thank you again for this wonderful message. Readers like you make storytelling a rewarding journey.

            Best wishes, Elizabeth
