“They lay there, not speaking for what seemed like hours to Mena. It wasn't an awkward silence, and she didn't feel the need to fill the void. Eventually, she heard deep breathing from Gregor beside her and realized that he had fallen asleep. She reached out, hesitated, and then swept the curl away from his forehead. She drank his long lashes and high cheekbones, she inhaled his smell, pleasant, musty, sexual. Her eyes fluttered closed. Exhaustion swept over her suddenly. She turned away from him but inched just slightly closer to him and allowed herself to sleep.”

Music motivates, so I put together a playlist for The True Love Algorithm that highlights Noelle’s personality and the story line. It contains Memphis Blues, pop music she secretly loves like Taylor Swift, and even some new jazz, which she tells people she’s into (but she’s really not.)

          Enjoy!

@ElizabethYWells Music is basically my prompt to get me to write lol. I've been uploading the songs on a YouTube channel of my own while the ad revenue and credits goes to the artists. Do you make these playlists only for yourself? Do you make a spotify playlist?

I’m a sucker for a signed book.

In college, I spent the night outside Square Books in Oxford, Mississippi, to be able to ask John Grisham to sign his latest book for me. I came with coffee and a chair at 2 a.m. By 6 a.m., everyone else arrived.

I’ve purchased a ticket to have a chance at a signed book and a picture with Kristin Chenoweth. Ended up, I was out of town and gave the opportunity to a friend. She showed up a few hours too late but managed to get a signed book that was left with the bookseller. I was bummed she didn’t get to get her picture taken with Kristin!

All to say, if you have a book, I want it signed! And if I ever publish Shadows&Steel, I expect you to request a signed copy!

          Who’s says print is dead
