Being completely inflexible and also being a figure skater is not a good combo :")

Life lessons I've learned out on the field:

It's not about how many competitions you win; it's about how much time and effort you put into making it this far.

It's never about one specific person in the band. We all need each other in order to succeed.

I need to pay attention to others, as well as myself.

We all have to stick together. We're one big family. Brass isn’t better. Woodwinds aren’t better. Percussion isn’t better. We're all equal, and we're all a part of something no individual could do by themselves. We all need each other, like a wolf needs its pack.

We try, laugh, pray, cheer, cry, and we repeat. Literal blood, sweat, and tears go into what we're doing.

          We're all one big family.

Marching band is a truly amazing sport.

I felt this. I was in the marching band for 5 years. I miss it so much.

In fact, the date of this post was my senior year. Lots of tears were shed that year. I cried during bandcamp. I cried at my last competition. I cried at the last game. I cried as I walked off the stage at graduation when the band behind it cheered for me. It was awfully hard to walk away from it, but I knew I had to move on. I made so many good memories in that band...

Even now, I’d give anything to march again.

Enjoy it while you can, dude. Time flies out on that field.
