Could you possibly write a story/oneshot of ponyboy being sick and the gang reads his paper he wrote for school? Maybe also put that Johnny and Dale didn't die, that the gang thought they died bc they did but we're revived at the hospital after everything maybe (ik they didn't have good technology back then but just bare with me, k?) ?? Pony has been really sick so when they went to check on him Soda decided to clean up a little and he found it? Also during the tone Ponyboy has been sick and very out of it Johnny and dally came back?
Another idea is what if instead of everything happening with Johnny killing Bob, pony ran away from Tulsa? Coming back 4 years later the day of his disappearance to everything being the same, except for him?
