Dear fellow reader and writer,
          first of all, thank you for voting for my little story. I've finally had a chance to read one of yours (The History of New Venice) and I am thoroughly impressed. This is more Don Delillo than Don Delillo himself. I loved the mix of almost painfully precise prose, the obvious musicality (and rhythm!) of the sentences, infused with (literally) sublime meaning. Even the ending felt satisfying and appropriate (something that I'm often struggling with). Best story I've read on this site. I applaud you for it, and I already know you'll knock me off my feet again with The House of Kuzubov, although I will need to let this one work its way through my rusty old brain pipes first, cleansed palate and all.
          Regards,
          Chris

Oh, yeah, Delillo did a lot for my reading and writing too. White Noise resides somewhere in my top five (or three, even) books of all time.

            I hope you're feeling a little better today.
            I'm also going through some weird times (I mean, who isn't, if you ask them, but this seems to be a particularly shitty moment), and also struggle with writing these days. I usually finish stories until they're around 75% done, then they escape to some weird place where I can't grab their slippery tails anymore.
            Your analogy about shouting into the void seems apt. I'd gladly take the famed 'writer's life', but without the (heavily romanticised) doubts and hyper awareness-issues.

            It helps reading other folks outings and finding something in them.
            Like I did in yours.

            All the best,
            C

@Ekkobelli Hello,

            Thank you so much for the comment, it's very appreciated.

            I am a big fan of Don Delillo, so that particular piece of praise was very warming.

            I am at a bit of a low point this morning with writing and life. Sometimes nothing seems to be working. Sometimes it feels as if you are shouting into the void and even the void is covering its ears. This comment helped me feel a bit better in myself.

            Thank you.
