PART 3 OF 3

Shelley's moral is that human connection keeps us human- without it we become unfeeling and hurt one another. This is extremely relevant to today as we are having to socially isolate. People are being separated, so they can't see their loved ones or experience what other people's lives and cultures are like. So we resort to a basic survival instinct: fight for "self defense," which is twisted into a very horrifying image. If we could all only try to learn about each other and feel each other's desire for companionship and sympathize, like the Creature did, then we could create a better world of acceptance, and not push away those who need the most help. Imagine if Frankenstein had accepted the Creature even though he is "ugly" and "savage." We need to go back to some of those more simple needs - love, care, and companionship - in order to keep moving forward in a way that helps everyone.

These are just my thoughts on the story. I'm sure it is oversimplified in today's society, but this is the time to reflect on what we really need in life. Everything is relevant. I would highly recommend the story of "Frankenstein." Mary Shelley is a genius, and I was surprised how interested I became as I continued to read the story. Please share and reflect on these ideas. Hope everyone is safe at home.

PART 2 OF 3

In the beginning, Frankenstein had people he loved and who loved him, and he was a good person. As soon as he stopped loving everyone, starting with the banishment of the Creature, things went downhill. With every person that Frankenstein lost, he became more and more numb to the human condition and emotions, turning him into EXACTLY what he thought the Creature was: a savage being who would stop at nothing to hurt his enemy. Frankenstein's constant search for The Creature turned him wild. The Creature never truly had any companions, so he was often "untamed" shall we say, but when he connected with people like the De Lacey family, he was the most humane character we saw. He was overjoyed by their delight and deeply saddened by their losses. In the end both Frankenstein and the Creature were bent on each other's destruction. When Frankenstein dies, then the Creature is miserable and feels that his own life has no meaning. Frankenstein was the only human with which he ever had a true relationship.

PART 1 OF 3

Ok so this is going to be slightly a word vomit, but I just finished reading an all time literature classic: Frankenstein. And it is EXTREMELY well written aaaaaand relevant to today! Spoiler alert for the book: but I think these are important thoughts to bring forward:

First off, the Creature, not Frankenstein, is the name of the "monster" that Frankenstein, the human, built. The Creature was ultimately the embodiment of the simplest of human needs: shelter, food, and water, of course, but also love and companionship. That was the sole motive for him when trying to interact with people or ask Frankenstein for a companion, before Frankenstein betrayed him for a second time. Frankenstein was the embodiment of humanity constantly trying to outdo itself and advance further in knowledge and technology, and this was the ruin of him. He left all of his friends and family behind when building the Creature, preferring to work in solitude, but this basically resulted in him becoming crazy and irrational. If from the beginning he understood the Creature's, and humanity's, true needs and been truly aware of himself and his surroundings, he could have stopped the death of his family before it was even a possibility. All we really need is companionship and to be accepted.

Hi, again, I'm alive! Hope you are all staying safe during this time of COVID-19, hand sanitizer, and social distancing. My mom found some reasonably priced toilet paper at the store today so that was a plus

Anyways, I was gonna ask, have any of you heard of the musical tv show "Smash?" I just finished the last episode the other night and was feeling kind of sad, so naturally I thought I'd look for some fanfiction, haha. However, I've just looked all over Wattpad and cannot find ANYTHING. If any of y'all know of anything please PM me or comment on here. I need to see Jimmy and Kyle and Karen and Ivy and Tom and Julia and Derek and all of them again.

          Stay safe!

Whew! Just got home from Costa Rica! We are tired out, but I have pretty much finished the Travel Log. I still need to post my Final Thoughts chapter, which will be done within the week, along with the real cover. If you don't mind, please check it out sometime!

I will also post the last chapter of The Troubles in Friendships this week. I meant to get it out before we left for our trip, but things got crazy and that didn't happen! I am almost done, just a few more paragraphs needed.

          Adios!

We are finally on our trip to Costa Rica! The first day of the travel log has been published. I see I've already gotten one quick reader... *cough cough* thanks @FreedomWolfLover *cough* But if you want, check it out, please!

I also noticed that my phone said only the first chapter of The Troubles in Friendships was published. Maybe because I published them a on our desktop and it didn't sync or something? Anyways, I've republished them, along with a new chapter, "Plan A Continues."

Just published part 3 out of 5 of The Troubles in Friendships! If you aren't busy, I would love you forever if you checked it out. XD It's funny, because Wattpad keeps showing that there are comments when I look at the book cover, but when I go into the book, I don't see anything. I'm not getting any notifications, so it's probably just a glitch. Thanks, all!
