So my newest pet peeve: poorly formed first person prose. If every sentence starts with "i"+ "verb" you aren't trying hard enough.  Sentence variety is a most when writing a story, otherwise it get boring and tedious to read like a long list of what your character did that day.

I'm back.  Life has been putting me through it lately, but I have been trying to write as a way to relax. Don't know how long it's going to take--hopefully less than a week--but, you should have a new installment soon.
