She got up out of bed and walked over to the window and looked out. Looking out, she could see the pain, drug addiction, poverty and despair that made the ghetto a place that anyone would want to escape. It was close to four a.m. in the morning and there were people still out on their missions of finding their next high by any means necessary. The scene was unbearable even more so now that she wil
l be the cause of some of this misery. She knew that becoming a drug dealer was one of the lowest things that a person could become. Dealers are heartless and uncaring people; they have to be in order to be able to deal with the destruction that they are handing their own people. She stood there looking out the window as tears began to fall from her eyes. She wondered if she could really have a hand in destroying other people’s lives as her own life was destroyed. She wiped the tears from her eyes and told herself that she has no choice; she has to do what she has to do to survive. She closed her curtains and got back in bed. She knew that this new life would come with consequences but, it was a chance that she would have to take. She just prayed that GOD would have mercy on her soul when Judgment Day arrived.
