          I’m sorry, but Wattpad just ain’t it like it used to be. The ads are ridiculous, the recommendations are completely out of my interest and makes it hard to find other good fics on there and I just agree with others people’s complaints about it to the point where I’ve even heard some questionably controversial stuff about it.
          
          It was fun back in the day when writing Bendy fics but now it’s just not the same. Might be fandom specific but I think it’s time to call it. I also prefer Ao3’s interface and tagging system over there too.

Ao3 version of the story has been re-formatted to look like the traditional web-format, however I have enabled a workskin (in “Show Creator’s Style”) where you can put the indentation alone back in.
          
          Wattpad version however will remain in “formal-format”. Mainly as a tactic to handle comment spam in the long run since this platform (in my past-experiences) is bad for people commenting on every line haha. What am I also going to do with the knowledge of learning to indent in school?
          
          Chapter 10 is a little over halfway done. Still in the writing stage.

          Originally Ao3 was going to be a backup-version of my story but I have grown to prefer the layout… mostly. There’s still a few things that are pretty complex to go through (pseuds, collections). 

Chapter 9 of Striking Chances has been published!

I don’t know if Wattpad notifies anyone about republished chapters that are already published, but I’ve chosen to do that with chapter 8 of Striking Chances as I’ve decided to add in an extra 1.8 words to the story that was gonna be included into the next chapter but it would ruin the pacing in my opinion.
          
          I will almost never do this as this confuses readers, but since the most recent chapter has only 2 readers (which I think are both me), it’s the only exception that I’ll take advantage of.
          
          Chapter 9 is still in progress, I could say is halfway now.

          Again, I apologize for the lack of art. I’ve been really focused on writing a lot more lately but as I’ve mentioned in the other post (albeit longer ), I will update here about what chapters had art added to them as well as respective links separate for the drawing only. 

I apologize for the random “♦️” in chapter 7 of Striking Chances lmao. That was not supposed to be there and I thought I had proofread it enough times so now I’m paranoid and might have to check back since sometimes Wattpad is weird and rarely messes around with my revision history. HOPEFULLY I don’t have to unpublish it but wth.
          
          Context: Since I write so much and I write on my phone, I like to use emojis as markers to break down sections of the story that I want to work on so I don’t get lost or confused in certain spots and then I can work on different parts of the chapter consecutively.
          
          Of course there might be an odd error or two in the previous chapters that I will eventually catch on. I am only human and I try my best to comb through my works for misspellings but I’m sorry, I ain’t gonna sit around and read something 10 times to make it right when I really wanna work on the next page. I plan to do a huge reread probably around chapter 10 so I can test the story flow and fix up any forms of errors that I may come across to.
          
          I did however followed through with my last post and have removed the major curse words in the earlier chapters except for the exceptions as I’ve stated and I have chosen to remove Thea’s song in chapter 1. I’ve also tried updating the story title to “Striking Chances (Pokémon AU Fanfic)” but Wattpad for whatever reason is being finicky and doesn’t want to change it. Maybe I might migrate back to Ao3 or a different site, who knows? Chapter 8 is almost finished by the way so there’s that!
          
          On the topic of errors, I’ll also go on a limb here… punctuation confuses me sometimes when it comes to writing dialogue and the usage of quotation marks lmao. That is something I will have to work on in my free time as well as using the correct usage of “it’s” and “its” as that also gets confusing too. Maybe someday I might actually make my own story for the whole public so I want to be sure I use everything, but who knows? 

Considering about revising Chapter 1 again for Striking Chances. Not a massive edit or anything but I am thinking about removing Thea’s song. It just feels so out of place lowkey and it doesn’t really provide much relevance to the story (or even as a fun way to show off Disharming Voice), but at least the concept of it can still be found on the draft version of the story on Ao3.
          
          Another consideration is also taking out some of the vulgar words the characters may say. I don’t have that big of an issue with it personally, especially since foul-language warning I’ve implemented but I’m sure some people don’t really like the idea of talking pokémon cursing from a franchise like this, even though in a sense it feels a bit realistic but uncanny lol. It is an idea that I’m already implementing in the next chapter (spoiler oop?). The only exceptions to this change though are words like “bitch/bastard/pussy”. Obviously they won’t be used very often but I chose to pick these words for a specific reason and also these words weren’t originally intended to be vulgar to society before.
          
          Anyway, Chapter 8 is halfway or over halfway done and so far it’s going smoothly! I reckon it could very well be ready next week if not two but don’t quote me.
          
          I also wanna assure folks that even if I fall into a writer’s block or out of the pokémon fandom for awhile, I will not ever consider discontinuing the book as I’ve planned this for years and I feel very passionate about writing as a hobby, bringing life to my characters and etc. I won’t let it have the same fate as DT! But any of what I mentioned could happen but I doubt it will for while!

          Next chapter might be shorter than how I traditionally had in mind so it might be updated sooner if all goes to plan. Might not be though, I may have to do a little workaround.
