Little hermitcraft x empires smp headcanon.
(In my headcanon, gem is not join hermitcraft. Pearl was reborn and got accepted to join hermitcraft, although have no memories of what happened)
So, Impluse was invited to hermitcraft at a young age. At the time, he only had one younger sibling -- gem.
When he moved away, gem and him still wrote letters, but one day, she stopped writing. He was concerned, like the older brother he is. Although hermitcraft was so far away from his home, so he just kept writing letters even though it never has an answer.
One day, when all of boatem jumped into the void, he felt something - a presence, a soul. It was familiar, he didn't think anything of it, but it just kept feeling familiar and comfortable.
Eventually, he realized something. It was Amethyst magic -- or well crystal magic. Gem wrote to him once that she was studying Amethyst Magic! He got excited, of course, since it was probably his sister's doing.
But, something unexpected happened. He had a dream -well that's not really unexpected- about his sister, and .. two younger boys? One of them looked like Gem, and one of them looked like ,, him. His sister opened her eyes and smiled. They had a conversation, talking about things that happened, the guess was right! Gem was the presence, but she had next shocked him.
"I'm dead, impulse." She giggled, he stared at her for a moment - it was like his heart skipped a beat. He heard that correctly, right? "These two, are our younger brothers. They're- They're dead too ,, " she said softly. He paused, then replied with a shaking voice "I- I failed to protect my young siblings ..?"
