I'm a writer currently living in Brooklyn by way of San Francisco and later New York.

At age 11 my first poem was published, and in high school I ran a free speech underground newspaper. I studied theater at UC Berkeley, where I founded Punch Theatre, an internationally-produced theater company for which I wrote all the texts.

Since then, I've had a variety of writing pursuits from standup comedy to a forthcoming novel. As long as I'm creating, I'm as happy as I can be.

In March of 2018 I launched Eric Barry Writes, a podcast, showcasing a new piece of writing each episode, brought to life with audio.

I'm currently working on a novel while publishing short stories and poetry.
