Hello! I'm Erin Yung, and I am writing! I have joined here in hopes of finding some community amongst other YA fantasy fans. I also wish to maybe find some mentors and support in this kind of strange path I have found myself on, where I sometimes whisper to myself with little confidence, "I am a writer."
My first book, The Push, takes place in another dimension world call Rohlm. There, the gentry are the superior race of species and have become well-bred creatures with specialized skills. One of the valued breeds, born with markings that swirl like a system of roots all over their body are landmovers who can manipulate the land in varying degrees of skill. The gentry raised a civilization called the Circle, though it has become divided into the Inner and Outer Circle. The Circle once was a lush and beautiful place abundantly energized by the essential element to all Rohlm life, Pure. Now, darkness spreads over the lands in more ways than one. The gentry find themeselves divided as they look to Sentry or Zayda, two timepushers who have both seen the future of doom and offer two different paths of solution. They all are unifeid in looking for a landmover who will fulfill the prophesy to save their kind.
In full disclosure, I am not a trained writer, but I have had a story in my head, which I have played out and built on alone in my mind. Recently, I have used some of my late-night hours to finally make some goals and deadlines to get this story out on paper.
I want my story not to be just mine. I wish for FEEDBACK. I would love to share it and grow. At this point, I have finished the rough draft of my first book in what I will be calling The Pure Series. I am in the editing phase and was making preparations to self-publish. I wanted to join some writing communities to gain feedback, colleagues, and mentors. I feel like there is very little direction for writers like me, and I have hopes to amend that here. Thanks!!

I did it. I switched my works to "complete". It is still a WIP, as I am editing my final copy. I'm afraid as I look back, this was not great, but it was a wonderful set of bones to work with. Thanks...View all Conversations
