@Bloominecraft05 @Bloominecraft05 I was afraid of that for a long time, which is why I never put any of my work online. However, at the end of the day, if someone is going to rip off your work, that's just what they're going to do, so don't let yourself be held back by that. In my case, when my work won the Wattys it had only been read 16 times. So no one had ever seen it. Then it won the Wattys and was published shortly after. Someone could still steal it, but there's a very clean track record of ownership so I would be easily able to sue them into oblivion. Legally, as soon as you produce a work you own the copyright. The important thing to make sure there are time stamps. So if you posted a story in December, and someone else copied yours and posted it in January, it's clear yours was first. I think Wattpad will deal with that stuff, but I am not sure. I no longer publish my works to Wattpad, and know very little about the platform. In my opinion, if you want to get your work out there, start your own website, put your work there, and then join writers groups and stuff to gain traction. Wattpad is a nightmare for building a following, and once you do they don't convert outside of the app hardly at all. Just my two cents. Feel free to dm about anything else if you want to talk further.
