So, I’ve been thinking about how Sodor Dark AU’s use their mains, and you can kinda tell what you’re getting into when you see the mains of each AU… if you’ve read enough of them. So… here’s what I’ve been able to comprehend from what I’ve seen based off of the mains of the AU’s I’ve gone over:

-Thomas mains are usually good, though there is a possible chance to misfire on occasion.
-Edward mains are usually on-par with Thomas ones.
-Henry mains suck 11 times out of 12.
-Gordon’s a weird case in that if he’s the main, it’ll at least be enjoyable if not great.
          -James mains have it EZ.
-Percy mains are set up against an uphill battle to which their opponent is 9/10 times a remaster or a product that ends in disaster.
          -Barely anyone mains Toby.
-Duck mains are a game of chance. You either get something good or something bad.
-Donnie mains started becoming more prevalent since 2022/2023 and I have a 5 page essay pinpointing Sodor: Eclipse as the main source. Aside from that, on par with Thomas and Edward.
-Douglas mains also have it easy, usually on-par with James.
-Oliver mains should suck it up and finish what they started like with Sodor Thunderstrike.
-Emily mains are few and far between. There should be more Emily mains, that’s all I’m saying.
-Arthur mains didn’t get the hint that Lucatt went bye bye but are sticking around anyway because Arthur’s cool. (That’s not even a general opinion, that’s an actual fact.)
-Salty, Jinty, and Pug mains will always have their respective AU’s unfinished… sad.
-Harvey mains are still waiting for the rest of “Attack On Harold.”
-Murdoch mains and [literally anyone else] mains getting somehow banger AU’s. Some are unfinished ofc, but the thought put into them is rich and interesting. They have my respect regardless of quality.
-Rotating cast mains be like: Imma gonna make this interesting. (They aren’t wrong.)
-Human mains are… a mixed bag to be certain, but usually good.

That’s all I got right now.

@ThomasStudios8 Anyways TS8 already did character leads so I'll do the main 12 of the au's I think there best in.
Thomas: Percy And The Deadly Comet.
            Edward: Sodor Thunderstrike.
            Henry: Sodor Thunderstrike.
            Gordon: Sodor Eclipse.
James: Sodor: The Anti NWR League.
            Percy: Sodor Crystallized.
            Toby: Sodor's Deep Sink.
            Duck: The Sodor Cold Wars.
            Donald: Sodor Thunderstrike.
            Douglas: Sodor Eclipse.
            Oliver: Sodor Thunderstrike.
            Emily: Sodor's Deep Sink.

@ErtlBlueBell

Valid reasons. As for the Corrupted Island Revamped segment, I'm excited to see what it talks about. I am proud of the OG version, but it definitely has problems.

So… now that my rewrite of Eclipse Remastered is done, I can finally work on my next project, and I think it might already be my best work ever?

For context: It’s a bit of a Sodor Dark AU mixed with elements of an ARG, and also a rework of a popular creepypasta based on another popular blue character at the same time.

@SuePodgorski ARG’s, or “Alternate Reality Game’s” are stories which are told via hidden links, secret messages, and other things. Think something along the lines of “Welcome Home,” or “This House has People in it.”

(NightMind has covered a bunch of them.)

The final COTE Update:

It's done... it's all finally done.

The whole story is finished, finalized, and has been scheduled with dates that have been spread out far enough.

Schedule dates will come at a later time, but for now, I'm happy to say that I finally did it... I re-wrote Sodor Eclipse: "The Remaster."

ErtlBlueBell

I feel like I’ve figured out why Thomas is labeled as an E2 despite not looking like one: HE WAS MADE USING PARTS FROM AN E2 KIT! (Kinda like the SECR N class.) This explains several oddities, and basically clears up any information about how he is and isn’t a Brighton E2 at the same time.

Also, fun fact: The Southern region of BR had FIVE 9F’s at one point. Just felt I should mention it cuz why not?

ErtlBlueBell

So… a few things COTE-related:
-Isle added it to his reading list, which is awesome.
-Next 3 chapters will be out over the course of this weekend. See how the story continues and how the final “official” chapters will play out.
-Majority of it is basically done, just gotta do some edits and editing before I can call it complete.
-And as I’m typing this out, I think I forgot a minor plot line?????????? Actually, I think I have a solution to it.
-So… that’s all that I have to update right now. I plan to have the edits and such completed before Christmas, and expect 2 chapters to come out at around that time… they’ll be very important, let me tell ya!

ErtlBlueBell

@SuePodgorski STILL, the fact it happened at all is awesome!

@ErtlBlueBell He added it to his general list, and the worst part, is I think it's right next to Cold Wars.

So… remember that whole “Thomas.exe” thing that I mentioned?

Well… I may or may not have planned out a story for it. (ONLY 10% BLOOD AND GORE AND NOT 500%.)

Spoiler Alert: I have only 5 acts planned. (As in there will ONLY be 5 acts consisting of 4 LONG chapters each.)

ErtlBlueBell

Me: Okay, so COTE is finally gonna be done, just gotta finalize it, release it, etc. Then after that whole ordeal, I can finally work on TOSS-Verse after five trillion eons!

Also me: I kinda wanna take a crack at writing something involving Thomas.exe. It will be a mix between a few things, and the whole “exe” portion will still be in there, but it will focus on things that aren’t blood and gore, and have its own lore in the process.
