question for anyone in ch/hetalia: do you guys choose to split Mexico into two people, or just one personification? I chose to make my version of just one person, but understand that some people choose to make two of them (or even three in some cases) because northern, central, and southern Mexico are culturally distinct from each other (or just for design choice really).

Just wondering because I have my own CH/aph version for Mexico, and I wondered if it would be a situation like with both Italys in Hetalia.

@WeirdestArrow Yeah I saw! That was nice to read about. Honestly in the CH sense you can find a bunch of historical moments to turn into angst when its profoundly impacted a country lmao.

@Ese_chicanoL the only part of Mexican history I have really researched was the Siete Leyes that created a unitary republic out of Mexico’s federal republic, cause it killed her original states. Had a lot of fun writing that angsty oneshot for CHHHM 24 lol

@WeirdestArrow lmao that's fair. I just wonder what the fandom collectively does for CH and Hetalia LATAM Fanon designs. Especially with Mexico and its cultural diversity, I originally figured if the country was ever mentioned in Hetalia it would be another Italy bros situation.

In any case, I think there's more freedom in CH when it comes to separating the country in two separate entities. I'm still learning Mexican history, but there isn't a period in history where Mexico was ever split in two (in the case of Prussia and Germany with how they call each other East and West), just two failed empires and a dictatorship under Porfirio Diaz, and another one (albeit loosely defined) under PRI with the aid of PAN. Of course, that's changing and I'm glad to say Mexico is starting to improve under the new MORENA party! It's nice seeing my homeland improve tbh.

Historical Hetalia is kinda silly to think about because what do you mean I'm researching 15 different trusted sources to build just the foundational base of the prologue alone?

Had to look into late 1800s -early 19th century fashion, railroad tracks, and into Archduke Franz Ferdinand's personal life (and personality) in order to write the around 800 words I have now. Thank goodness I love history though.

Russia and the USA agreeing on the same thing in a UN vote was not on my 2025 bingo card.

Ese_chicanoL

not only that, they agreed TWICE. Everything in this timeline has gone wrong.
