@EshTCP, I hope it's okay that I've posted some fanart of Iceborn for you and it doesn't violate your rights. If it does then I'll take it down. Otherwise, take my fanart as thanks for writing the first version of Iceborn!

BlizzardIceWing

Aw, thank you, but your stories have made my day so many times more!

Aight so I've been thinking a lot about Iceborn. I really don't want this project to die, it's been one of the greatest projects I've done and I really want to see it come to fruition. But the current series just feels so... archaic. It was written back when I was still learning how to properly write a story. Plus, all the lore I have for it was either very, very barebones or was made up on the spot.

I've fleshed out so much on Magisalla, the Pyrrhian Kingdoms, the CloudWings, the ChasmWings, and this entire world. I want to see it bloom, and I feel like I can't do that with this current old story. I feel so demotivated about it whenever I try to continue the next chapter.

So! What I'm planning on doing is, instead, revamping the entire thing. It'll be a side thing, as my main focus are two original works I've been writing, but rest assured y'all are not going to be left in the dark.

I will be updating Cloudborn with two new chapters: One chapter will give you the story planner for the unpublished chapters, detailing what would've happened in Cloudborn. The second will be the full story concept for Sunborn! Along with notes on what I wanted to do in Sunborn.

I'll update these chapters as soon as I can, as I'm in the process of moving apartments right now. And once I figure out my plan for the revamp, I'll be keeping you wonderful, wonderful people updated.

Seriously, thank you all. The fact I even have fans for this is what inspired me to keep writing. Iceborn helped me discover my love for writing and helped me discover my writing style. I owe a lot to it!

          Well, until then! Stay awesome!

BlizzardIceWing

@EshTCP No, thank YOU for creating this awesome story for us to enjoy. It was amazing to read and although the story's going to be revamped, we'll be with you all the way! You are amazing! :)

Hey Iceborn fans! I felt inspired and decided to experiment with a thing. My writing style has evolved a lot over the years. I definitely try to stick with a Wings of Fire-esque theme when I write the Iceborn series, but I got curious as to how the story would sound if I wrote it in my personal writing style! I posted it to my Tumblr, where I'm way more active than I am here these days.

My own personal writing style is based on my current writing passion, which is a wild mix of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Psychological Horror, Action, and Adventure. I like to picture that if I wrote the Iceborn series with my current style, it would not only be longer but it would also be a lot darker and probably not suitable for younger peeps haha. I would definitely go deeper into Blizzard's mental troubles as she tries again, and again, and again to rebuild her life as it gets torn away from her over and over.

Fair warning, there is some cursing in it, as well as a semi-detailed drowning scene. So if you're not okay with that, I would advise against reading it. But if you're okay with that, then have fun and I hope you enjoy!

I say write it however you want. It does not have to be in the same style as the original works.

With Dragonslayer around the corner, I think it's about time I come clean as to the truth around my hiatus. Lately, the Wings of Fire fandom has become an extremely toxic place, with white knights and purists and "fandom police" raging in every corner. Seeing all this discourse and people attacking others is so tiring that I've completely disconnected myself from the fandom. Thus, I do not find myself setting aside time to work on the Iceborn series. I've been devoting my time to more personal and original projects, one of which I plan on publishing as an actual book one day.

Anyway. I love the Iceborn series. It's one of the most fleshed out fan series I've undertaken, and I really want to see it be completed. But right now, until the fandom calms down, I don't see myself wanting to work on it. Not when this fandom is filled with such toxicity.

Once I feel like I can be a part of this fandom again, Iceborn will come back. So until then, remember to be kind and understanding. People are different, they like different things. Don't ruin someone else's experience with something just because you don't agree with them. The ones who go and directly attack people? Don't be like them. Don't attack people, for any reason.

          Until then, peeps!

EshTCP

@That_one_Wyvern I don't expect people like that to all go away on a whim. I know there will always be sour and bitter parts to a fandom. I'm just waiting until I feel like I can be in this fandom comfortably again. And if it comes down to it, I'm not going to leave you all in the dust. If I can't continue the series, I'll post the synopsis of the rest of Cloudborn and all of Sunborn for y'all.

Most toxic people I’ve seen are hardcore radical liberals “attacking” people for whatever reason they can find. That won’t change and that’s in every fandom.

@EshTCP Wow, I never knew how hostile people are in the fandom right now. It's sad to hear this, with me being a long-time fan of WoF. I hope this mess clears up soon...
Until then take your time and join back in the fandom with us when you feel ready. No pressure!

I have been reading your Iceborn series and have seen you hiatus. I wanted to know if you would ever update again?

@EshTCP
Ok! Thanks for the info. Take all the time you need.

@Aspen_The_Random_One I really want to finish the story, but University has been kicking my butt and I've been struggling with inspiration. So I'm honestly not sure! I definitely won't leave y'all hanging, though. I'll post the summaries of the rest of the story if I can't get back to it.

Hey Iceborn fans! Sorry for such the long delay between chapters. I guess you can call this an accidental hiatus haha. The story is not cancelled, I can assure you that. I have too much planned out to give up on it, as I have Cloudborn to finish as well as a third book that'll introduce two new tribes as well! And after reading The Poison Jungle, I feel very motivated to write some more chapters! So look forward to it!

Thank you so much for your patience, peeps!

@EshTCP Yay!! thank you so much!

If you ever continue The Iceborn series, I thino it would be cool to see some HiveWings/SilkWings, do you think you'll do it?

EshTCP

@NyteBlayde904 While I do like the idea, I'm afraid Pantala will not be appearing in Iceborn. Magisalla is the Lost Continent in this series, as I planned it out and began writing it before the Lost Continent was published. The planet is already kinda full with Pyrrhia, the CloudWing Archipelago, the poles, and Magisalla lol
