Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a good weekend so far. I just wanted to get your thoughts on something real quick!
So, as most of you probably know, I’ve been seriously thinking about rewriting SY… BUT I know a lot of y’all are super attached to the OG version and would probably fight me if I touched it.
So hear me out—what if instead of a full rewrite, I just revise it a little? Like no plot overhauls, no character replacements. Just cleaning up a few scenes, fixing the pacing, polishing the writing, and making it flow better. The heart of the story stays the same. Luciano’s still fine as hell. Paris is still delulu. The vibes are intact. I just wanna give it the glow-up it deserves with everything I’ve learned since I first wrote it.
Some of you suggested I post the new version separately and leave the OG up… but I feel like that’d be confusing af. New readers will 100% end up on the old one since it’s more popular, and then we’d all be in two different timelines like it’s the multiverse or something.
Soo I feel like polishing instead of rewriting is a good middle ground?? But I do wanna know what you guys think cause this book feels just as much yours as it is mine ❤️

@Essieewrites I feel like you should do what feels right to you as the author because as much as we all absolutely love the book it is your creation so you should do what makes you happier with it

@Essieewrites I honestly think you should do what feels best as the author. But at the same time i feel you should, like you said "Polish" the book up a little.

@Essieewrites thank you sm for re thinking thisI personally don’t think you should change anything because if all these people liked it so much and it got so many views that shows that your story was absolutely perfect the way it was. Saying that I believe it can also show how you have grew as a writer reading the 2 book, not that I think the first one has any flaws but the second book goes into my detail about Paris and Luciano’s relationship while the first is a nice slow burn. Your books are so beautiful the way they are, the age gap, the detailed romance scenes, the plot and attraction between the characters, but it’s your decision. Thank you for not changing the og story tho :)
