Eh. Looks like I will be showing meself out for round 3 of onc.

What I intended to be a light hearted novella, short and sweet has grown into something kinda serious, and I really don't wanna rush my way through this. I discovered that having a concrete deadline actually works well for me while coming up with an outline. Buuuut as for writing the actual story, I like to take my time. Participating in this year's onc gave me that kickstart I needed to really push through all the intertia and get serious about a story idea that was only a vague moodboard kinda thing in my head. Having to write those first 8k words forced me to sit my impatient ass down and ACTUALLY bring the idea on paper...and for that, I'm grateful.

Shoutout to my awesome friend @ScribbleYourThoughts for inspiring me to participate in the onc 2026! ❤️

That Dragon *will* be saved, i promise ya (✷‿✷)

@EternalSu Aww i just saw your message. And i agree dude, our stories deserve more time and thoughtfulness from us than we can give them right now. Those deadlines are crazy, and i was able to keep up with it till 2nd month. By April i somehow ran out of steam, and the words just aren't hitting the same. I was just rereading what ive written, and it feels like im putting words according to my outline, but it doesnt have the same feeling i wanted it to have. I was literally just trying to fill the word count, even though the words didn't feel right to me. So yeah, sometimes giving up today means taking a win tomorrow. Let's give our stories the care they need and support each other till their wonderful end ❤️

@EternalSu no cause i literally haven’t been able to write ANYTHING because of this — not even foe or other works because im still not over the fact that i couldn’t finish oracled by its deadline—

@normicki brooooo same. Went thru the full cycle of grief about not being able to wrap up my entry by 30th, but then I thought. Hmmmm. Do I wanna just hit the word count or do I wanna do these characters justice and tell their story in the elaborate way they deserve? Then i got my answer right away.
*Hugs u* GO FORTH THE ORACLED ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ keep on writing, guilt free!! It's gonna be awesome!!

Hey...so. anyone else getting these weird comments on their books like , ‘hey author, i LOVE your writing style, here's how you can CAPTURE your audience with visual art, contact me at xyz' ??????

I get like 3-4 sometimes. And I'm like ?????? It's so obvious that they didn't read a single word of the story, because they randomly pop up at, say, chapter 5 and leave the most generic praise ever. You click on their profile and it's often blank, no reading lists, no display of this ‘visual art' they seem to advertise

It's just weird and sketchy. Not cool at all.

EternalSu

@the_introvert_author alright imma report them now too!!

Hello friend,

Thank you for adding my book to your reading list! Nowadays, some new readers have been attacking me with racist comments, which has been disheartening. Your support has given me a much needed spark of hope :)

TheSmileMaker

@EternalSu Thank you! Yes, I'll stay strong.
Your read just helped my book touch 60k :)

@TheSmileMaker let the trolls starve in silence. They have no capacity to create, so they spew hatred at the ones who do.
Fellow Indian here. Stay strong and keep working on your craft.

@EternalSu I've been deleting those comments as they come, but it's wearing me down. Just personal attacks rather than anything real about my story.
No, I'm not working on anything at the moment.
