In  Latin this phrase means  AND LIGHT SHINES IN DARKNESS ...   I have never written any of my creative prose or poetry for the public to read except when I attended my University writing classes and was assigned creative projects by my professors who were very intimidating to me . Oh! It was not that they were not kind or helpful , they were extremely good well known published and quite famously revered writers . They made me very self-conscious. One day , a Creative Writing Professor asked for my permission to keep the story to use as an example in her teaching . That is when I realized that maybe I might have something different to explore. 
I never acted upon this creative writing idea.  I still did not feel " good enough ".  My writing life in general ... A secret life I never intended to share with anyone , and yet here I am writing on this page to you readers out there to announce I am going to try to open my doors or at least crack the window a bit to who I may be . I am one to believe that an author is not always separate 100% from what he or she creates. At least in most cases . Some will disagree with me adamantly . How do you feel readers ? Can an author write a work with total objectivity ? I am talking about a creative work and not something of a journalistic point of view in which it is absolutely necessary to remain unbiased and just state the facts . As we know from journalists today they often have a terribly difficult time writing without opinions . 
So, my about page is going to be left as a mystery to you dear readers . I do love a good mystery . Although , I have never attempted to write one . I tend to write stories about what I know best . Therefore , you will find out by reading my stories and poems and maybe a serial novella , the mystique of this person choosing to call herself Irenadawn and using the Latin phrase "And Light Shines In Darkness" to express something of importance as a motto .
