Note: I went back and changed the opening of Humanity Endures. I can't believe I wrote the opening to my super-dark nuanced serious space opera like that! What was I thinking?! Anyway the starting conflict is now nepotism not Yelazar being Yelazar, chapter 1 parts 1 and 2 are slightly different if you want to see the difference. The next project is going well, but when university starts it might slow down a lot. We'll see what happens.
Also found a very, very, VERY bad math mistake that made it sound like far too many soldiers were landing on Earth during that one part. That's fixed now.

Great book, Quite an impressive long book. I am reading it and love it. Keep it up and do write more such interesting long sci-fi space alien themed book. I will read them all.
@MadhurjyaKashyap Thank you for your comments Madhurjya! It is words like those that keep a writer going. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy my work, and sometime in the future I shall endeavor to produce more of it!
Humanity Endures on Wattpad is now fully up-to-date! The cover is different, and any small changes I made to the manuscript over the past few months are now incorporated on this site's version. Happy reading everyone!
Hello everyone! This is the first announcement I've ever made, and it comes with some important news. Firstly, unless the cruel hand of fate intervenes and I am flooded with school work, I am going to start being much more active on Wattpad, in the community, and with my readers. I realize that it was probably a mistake to essentially shun this platform once my book was available on other stores, and over the next few weeks I'll do my best to correct this mistake. Hell, I have more readers on Wattpad than on all the other platforms combined -- I really should have given you guys more attention! Secondly, sometime this weekend I will update Humanity Endures with all the minor, passive revisions made over the past few months. I blame the delay on the fact that Wattpad doesn't let people import Word documents, and not on my own laziness and incompetence, because everyone knows that I'm an *utterly* perfect human being. Oh, and the book's cover will be updated slightly at the same time. (But seriously, who wants to copy-paste 300,000 words into 102 sections each time you want to publish a new version of one's text? This process is somehow even worse than Amazon's, and that's saying a *lot*!) In other news, Humanity Endures is available on other bookstores like Amazon and Leanpub, and you should take it from this *unbiased* source that it's worth taking a look at. Lastly, if any of my author-followers have new or updated books, I'd be happy to check them out. More announcements like this will likely follow. Have an excellent time until then, ~ Evan Armstrong
@Evan_Armstrong Thank you for the reply. I just hate to see promising young authors "Burn Out" (hence the Meteorite reference as they are so bright then gone!) Try to avoid the Damning three in life, (Could of, Should of would of) as I can guarantee you that at 68 yrs old I KNOW of a lot of those moments! LOL When I saw so many messages from Two years ago I thought that you "Flashed"! You are young and NEED to experience all life has to offer as you only get one shot at it but when you are good at something and enjoy it then that is what you should do. (Some sacrifice such to make others happy) and even though it sounds harsh down the road you will have to judge yourself as you will be the final word. I await your future works (Hey an excuse to get even older!) LOL Once again thanks for replying, Kevin
Firstly, thank you Bill for your kind words, your kind votes, and for being an awesome reader in general. Rest assured, the story of Humanity Endures is not over. Kevin, I hear your complaints, and I want to explain some things. Firstly, the chances of the person who advised me to split my book trying to steal my book are 0. The person who suggested I do that was my Dad, and he advised I do it because longer books are more difficult to read. 300,000 words is literally 3/5ths the length of War and Peace, so I don't think he's wrong. But at the moment, both of us are way too busy to write a full sequel right now so theft isn't an issue. Second, I want to reassure you that the Humanity Endures-verse isn't done. I will eventually write a full, similar-length sequel that deals with the final stages of the alien war (and also fully reveals all the different things that have been hinted at, if I didn't intend to write a sequel I wouldn't have foreshadowed so much). The thing is that at this moment I don't have enough time to write this full-length sequel while doing it justice. Since finishing Humanity Endures I had to take a bunch of time to learn programming and do Math 100 and Math 101. However, because I enjoy writing, I recently started work on a side-story set in the Humanity Endures-verse that takes place around the same time as the main novel. I'll probably put out a chapter or two when it's past the pre-alpha stage. So TLDR: The story isn't over, a sequel will come eventually, and more HE stuff is in the works right now. I understand the disappointment, and I'm sorry (even though the fact that people are disappointed because they want more of my writing actually makes me very, very proud). Cliffhangers can be brutal. But don't worry too much because again, more is coming. Cheers, - Evan
@Evan_Armstrong Disappointed just doesn't quite cover it. Whoever gave you the advice to end it at the point you did is probably now working on a "CopyCat" or loose version of your story! If this was/is to be your ONLY visit to Science Fiction then you are living the life of a "Meteorite"! Where would Clarke, or Heinlein or many of the other great Sci-Fi writers be if they wrote a strong story such as this and literally dropped it on its head. Some in the trade will tell you "Great Job, now try expanding into other subject matters!" WHY?? What if they DON'T want to have to compete with you here or on Amazon or any other distribution site? Your WHOLE life IS ahead of you so go a bit slow now and try to look ahead as quicker than you really realize it 40, 50 or 60 years have passed and those you lived are gone and those that loved your writing buried your name long ago! You are pretty good, tune it up a bit AND NEVER stop "Your Car" at a green traffic light (for the most part the novel has been a green light promising a lot of travel but it started sputtering and dragging then simply shut down!) DON'T GIVE UP (But also important, don't miss your teen years as you only trylu get them once!
@chandelles Thank you for your kind words! Believe me, I hope I do well in the contest too ;) From your profile I see that you're aiming to submit something to the Wattys; I wish you good fortune on that front, and in all your other literary undertakings.
Please take a look at my own stories whenever you'd like.
I am looking at your book as I speak. Wait till I get back to you in the comment section
@Admiralkim7 Sure thing, and thank you! Sorry I didn't see this message earlier.
That’s a long (and pretty impressive) book mate. Look out for MY Novel (working title: Mascots of the great white north) which will probably be better than your book.
@ShrimpsoftheCoast Out of curiosity, though, may I ask to what the "Great White North" of your book's title refers? Is it Canada? Siberia? It's a *cool* title nonetheless
@ShrimpsoftheCoast I thank you for your sincere compliment, friend; I thank you even more for the competition! :) I'm looking forward to seeing your own book hit the internet - I've no doubt that it's a worthy contribution to world literature. In the meantime, I hope that you enjoy my, obviously inferior, text. I wish you the best of luck writing, fellow author; I look forward to meeting you on the fields of literary battle! :)
