          am I the asshole for being mad at my mom for planning on putting restrictions something I am going to buy and pay for with my own money?
          
          as you know, I'm fourteen. I recently started working concessions stands and plan to work at subway when I turn fifteen. I found a laptop on amazon costs only sixty bucks, and it has perks such as having a touch screen and being able to turn into a tablet.
          
          im extremely excited to finally be able to pay for my own things, and especially excited to use discord again. I only plan to use roblox, discord, youtube and a few other sites and apps. my mother is telling me how if she ends up buying it, NOT paying for it, she is allowed to put restrictions on it. I understand her concerns, and understand that this practice is legal, but I'm still upset. she puts restrictions on EVERYTHING of mine, including my phone, because of something that happened when I was younger. something that SHE could have controlled and/or prevented. I was excited for this, to finally be free from restrictions, but it sucks that she wants to basically rid of the whole POINT of me getting my own device. that and I don't want to use my sisters anymore because she deserves to use it more than I do, she bought it. 
          
          this brings me into another complaint. my sister bought her device when she was younger than me. my parents choose favorites, so OBVIOUSLY her device has no restrictions. its annoying, definitely.  especially because HER device had caused my younger sister to get groomed. I don't get why my parents didnt put restrictions on her device, because I know damn well they thought of it.
          
          I'm running out of space to type, but please do discuss. am I genuinely wrong for just wanting a bit of privacy? im a teenager, and I don't believe I was nearly as stupid as I once was. even if I do go on discord or something weird, I don't plan on going on anything nearly as bad as what I had once done. its my choice.
