About your question, depends on your tropes. If its enemies to lovers, I can say same career will go well, giving way for competition and all. Or it could be professional players to friends to lovers as well in same field, like badminton.
From what I have seen from your books, pardon me if I am wrong, but you go from hostile to friends to lovers. And this can go for both same and different profession, depending on your storyline.
I hope I didn't confuse you more :D. If I have a say, two different profession who thinks the others work isn't that important, that's will go well.
