Heya, fluffs! I should probably tell you what happened as of late.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT
A released work, "Scapegoat", will receive a new title.
Why? Because the idea I have for the original title didn’t age well, and I felt as though I need to step back and give the cover, story, and the world the justice it needs to flourish, to make it a story I’ll be proud of.
That said, I cannot simply let go of a fully-written novel that’s released in 2022.
While it’s not the story I envisioned, this novel is somewhat fleshed out, and readers have already found their way to it more than once. It simply is a waste to take it down and let it rot in my offline storage.
Consider this as a preview: "Scapegoat" will be back, but with an entirely different story, characters, and world; the only thing that will stay is the cover you have already seen.
With that, I formally announce that from now on, the novel with Paris Lerring as the MC shall be called "Evenwicht".
Why that title?
Evenwicht is a Dutch word that means “balance”, “stability”, and “equilibrium”.
It fits the concept I tackled in the novel, which is the eternal struggle of “good” and “evil”, of the monstrous and the pure, only to find out that these seemingly opposing concepts have been, in fact, holding the world together. Perfectly in balance, as all things should be.
It is through finding the good in evil, and the evil in the good can we truly embrace our paradoxical existence. That we can find peace amidst the chaos and search for the good in a pool of wickedness.
So, there you have it. I will not change the story or anything else. It will remain free to read. The only things that will change are the title, the cover, and the graphics found inside the story.
