Anil Bahuman

Mumbai-based tech executive turned fiction writer, Anil Bahuman blends a diverse professional background with a passion for storytelling to craft compelling novellas.
Experienced Writer: A Harvard alumnus, I developed a strong foundation in writing through academic publications (2000-2008) and by crafting impactful business plans for social and commercial ventures (2006-2020).
Passionate Storyteller: My journey into fiction writing began during the pandemic, and over the past seven months, I've mentored new and intermediate-level writers at the Ink and Quill Collective (India), helping aspiring authors refine their work.
Tech & Creativity Blend: My tech background fuels my creative process. I write two bi-weekly newsletters-about a post a month-one analyzing AI and mass surveillance, and the other presenting my fiction in audio format.
In 2020, inspired by courses on MasterClass and Rebecca McClanahan's works, I began writing my first novella. Over four years and with support from a community of fantasy writers at the Himalayan Writers Retreat, I completed the project, which is now being produced as a 90-minute audiobook. It's being released to an online audience of creative professionals, with 51% based in the U.S., 28% in India, and others across 20 countries.
As a member of the Ink and Quill Collective, I remain committed to advancing my craft alongside fellow writers, continually striving for literary growth. A Throne in Exile: The Story of Sita, Ram and Kaikeyi is my debut novella on the theme of the human spirit's victory over climate change.
