          The water was cold, it always was. Swimming always made it feel warmer but being trapped in the water wasn’t fun. Daisy started scratching at the roof to her cage, why had SunCatcher been so cruel. At least Daisy could breathe. She sank to the bottom and grabbed her part of the communication device and texted Annabelle, worried about her. She would always just say she’s fine though she most likely really isn’t. Daisy saw no reply, normally Annabelle replied right away, was she ok? Was she hurt? Daisy was angry she couldn’t protect her. Annabelle was only 14. Daisy remembered the black and red code, she knew Annabelle never truly went to the outer world.
          
          Ava
          Ava was tired, she had been playing with the swords for hours. She needed to be perfect! She practiced and practiced. More, she needed more practice, her skills needed to be perfect. She had to impress him. He was the only person who could make it normal that she had wings, he had them too. Yet an emptiness filled Ava
          She missed her friends. Where was Daisy? Most of the time she would have come in and yelled at Ava to stop practicing. Then Ava had a thought, where was Suncatcher? Ava ran to the door, fear on her face as she tried to open the door. Locked. How had she been so dumb to not notice the door had been locked for how long? Days? Weeks? Ava wouldn’t ever know.
