Folds his arms across his chest, he fixes the other with a cool, unbothered gaze a dangerously lazy look that only a practiced killer could pull off. ] " You're getting ahead of yourself, Levi ," [ he states smoothly, a dark, faintly teasing glint passing through his eyes. ] " Nobody is drugging anyone. But if you're so worried about my attention being scarce... maybe you should focus on keeping your own side of our little bargain instead of making a scene. "

" Demanding, aren't we ? " [ A slow, humored breath escapes through his nose as he finally stirs, slowly peeling his back away from the cushions. He doesn't close the gap between them, simply leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees while keeping a respectful distance. His dark eyes remain locked onto the other's, the lazy amusement in his expression sharpening into a quiet, focused curiosity as a lingering grin softens on his lips. ] " Don't rush me... you'll have to pour the drink first. "

            [  He smiled, his gaze low on the other's posture, watching how he sat like a king on a throne. The silence that lingered held its own breath while waiting on an answer. Levi licked his fangs in an open mouth before replying, his voice low and dark, but his eyes burned with expectancy. ] "Come here then."

" Depends on who's asking. " [ A low, quiet chuckle escapes his chest, though he remains firmly slouched back against the cushions, making no move to crowd the space between them. His head tilts back slightly as his gaze tracks the silent gesture toward the bottle on the table, a thoroughly amused, lazy grin lingering on his lips before his dark eyes drift right back up to lock onto Levi's. ] " But for you ? I might just make an exception ."

            [  He had to shut his eyes for a moment to stop his nerves from crashing. His fingers began to buzz, and the distant hum of voices and music carried by the wind now echoed, as if embedded in his mind. He only looked when she got close, a small flick of his irises towards the crouching frame beside him. The threat earned a weak laugh from the other. ] Sounds like fair game. [ He whispered, and with a heaved breath in turned his face towards hers. How strange, there was something tame in his wild eyes as they lowered from her gaze down to the offered limb. The blood pooled in her palm. Soon, his bigger hand cupped hers from below, spreading the fingers out and, hesitantly, his head lowered to it. Levi licked the palm clean and wiped her wrist equally well, his tongue akin to a feline's as he made his way to the cut. Gently, as if leading a dance, he lifted her arm higher and wrapped his mouth around the cut, teeth barely sinking in as he began to drink. ]

A headache began to form quickly, and he pressed down hard against his eye with a quiet hum, removing it just in time to see the flick of a blade in the dark. When he turned the deed was done.             [   He had seen him get agitated, fluffed up like a kitten hissing at a hand that tried picking it up. Too often had he been exposed to it; to the point this now was far from shocking. Green eyes lowered to the hand that threatened him, and he bit his lip to stop a smile from forming. Instead, innocent like a deer, he looked up at those eyes that tried to scare him. ] "Surely." [ He agreed with a nod, and tilted his head against the wall more. ] "I know it is because of that, not because I perceive you as a human." [ A smile formed then, dimples showing at the corners where canines hid, and a light laugh escaped him. ] "Or because you aren't used to being known as nothing but an assassin. You even say it in third person - you framed your whole life around it." [ With a sigh, he looked down at his own feet, and tapped a few times against the floor before looking at him again. ] "You're rigid because you're exposed, you're cruel because your shell is off - but you don't realize it, do you? You are more yourself now than you've ever been."

[ A muscle in Lucian’s jaw twitched violently at the word / bashful /  A Victorian woman ? /  The comparison alone made his blood simmer, a dark, dangerous warmth completely replacing whatever lingering embarrassment had touched his ears. Levi's playful tone was grating against his nerves, but it was the accusation of fear that finally snapped his rigid posture into motion.
            He didn't pull away this time; instead, he leaned forward, letting his shadow fall over the vampire. His dark eyes narrowed into razor-thin slits, entirely devoid of the previous flustered panic, replaced instead with the cold, calculated focus of a predator looking at a target. A slow, chilling smile spread across his lips one that didn't reach his eyes at all. ]
            
            " Scared ? You mistake an assassin's disgust for fear " [ Lucian murmured, his voice dropping into a dangerously low, smooth purr that carried a lethal edge. He deliberately let his gaze slide down to where Levi's hands were resting on his own lap, before snapping back up to lock onto the vampire's eyes. ] " I am rigid because every single fiber of my being is screaming at me to drive a silver blade through your throat just to stop that irritating noise you call laughing. And my legs are crossed, " [ he added, his tone clipping sharply as he gave a soft, cynical scoff, ] " simply to keep myself from kicking you off this bench. If you think a pair of bare legs is enough to make me lose my composure, you drastically underestimate the things I've looked at before ending their lives. Do not mistake my restraint for bashfulness, Levi. It's the only thing keeping you intact right now. "

            [   Lucian had the mannerisms of a house cat being exposed to the outdoors for the first time. Somehow, Levi was expecting him to hiss any moment now, especially when he saw how the other jolted at the sight of his hand. It was amusing, and only now did the shy flush on Lucian's ears make sense to him. Levi crooned his head curiously, defenseless in the other's guarded company, and loving every second of it. To him, the threat fell like a joke thrown back, especially with the start of a smile forming on Lucian's lips. To that, he only smiled wider. ] "So you are scared." [ He said it like a revelation, and laughed in amusement before falling back into a sitting position. His hand slid carefully over the shared bench before settling on his knee while the other moved up to push the damp hair from his face. His body was warmer now, he couldn't resist but to touch his own bicep and shoulder to feel the fake heat radiate off his dead body. A small hum followed the discovery, and soon he nicely set his hands on his lap more to tease the other than to actually soothe the situation. ] "Didn't know all it took was for me to see your bare legs for you to get so bashful. You're acting like a Victorian woman, Luc." [ The vampire grinned, pressing his dark head against the wall to take a better look at him. Again, his eyes fell on the other's crossed legs, and his eyebrows knitted together in barely restrained entertainment. His accent was thick but his playfulness evident in the rigid words. ] "Especially with that pose... what is wrong with short legs? I just said they're small, nothing bad."
