it held the item awkwardly , leaning forward to sniff at it. "w .. hat is th .. is?"
they .. didn't understand most of that. words jumbling in their head until they let out a whine of confusion. they / did / recognize the word ' don't ' though , and considering it was really only doing one thing ..
with a dejected huff they gently set the object down. it was probably important. it had smelt — weird. odd. not something that would be fun to play with. now , with their attention free , they focused solely on the other person in the room.
it crawled a few paces forward , ending in a crouch now too far away from the unknown person. a curious chirp echoed as they sniffed the air — cringing a bit at the stale scent of blood. had they not already eaten today , the smell probably would have set them off. as of right now — they were just bothered that the blood was aged.
"d .. id go .. ood?" the creature questioned while motioning back to where they had deposited the foreign object.
