(RANT)
I find the Mina/black edit debate so flipping stupid, "this is black washing and offensive to the creator"
we know Mina Ashido's skin is freaking kobi pink. We know Monty isn't black or white , he's a frigging circuit board with a suit. People make headcanons more relatable to their life and relationships. Headcanoning a robot alligator as a poc if they were a human isn't going to kill you.
What people don't get is that most anime characters aren't white. Asian and Caucasian are not the same thing. Just bc a character has light skin doesn't make them white. Also, Nationality and Ethnicity are NOT THE SAME THING.
I saw an argument online once about whether L from death note was white or not based off the fact that he lived in the UK, I don't live in the UK but I'm pretty sure it isn't filled with exclusively white people. I'm sure that L could simultaneously live there and be Asian.
I am white so idk how much my opinion really matters in this situation, but I think black washing isn't real, the genshin impact and BNHA communities need to calm tf down, and blasian Shinobu and Nobara could break my neck and I would hide my body as to not bother them more then I already have.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
