Finally finished my short story "Ducky" after working on it for months. It was inspired by the horrors of witnessing one of my students being abused by a parent, nurturing maiasura, and "happy ending" fairy tales. The details took longer to work out than I would have liked and finding appropriate pictures was nearly impossible. AI sites are the worst, at least if you have an unusual request. 
          
          Are you all having a hard time finding pictures/photos that really match your work?

After a lot of thought, I've decided to remove my tiny collection of Islamic poems, "Islam is Like a River," from WattPad. 
          I hope to publish the individual poems in it elsewhere, perhaps on an Islamic publishing site or actually have a real chapbook made of them in the future. Peace to everyone.

I just published part 4 of "Ghosts," entitled "Unwanted."
          
          I was really happy that some people were waiting for me to update. Sorry I kept ya'll waiting. 
          
          With school starting, Covid continuing to wreak havoc on school life, & "Ghosts" being semi-autobiographical... it's been a tough one to finish.
          
          I promise to keep on top of it and I do have an outline for the rest of the story.

          1) If you are in the US, UK... Do what you can to stop hate crimes against Asians.
          Asian Muslims will be easy targets during the holiday.
          
          2) Pray for Palestinians, Uighur, Rohingya... & ALL oppressed people of the world. Stand up for them.

Ramadan fasting begins tomorrow. I will probably be scarce during this month, but I do plan on writing whenever possible.

What are some good films to watch during Black History Month? 
          
          It's sort of a tradition that I have- I don't have enough time for reading these days. I have seen most of the popular ones. I have a preference for older films or documentaries.
