*** I suggest that if you want to read something of mine, and have the time, you check out YELLOW FOOTPRINTS. It's a non-fiction piece about my boot camp experience, where I try to incorporate all things musical, like songs and cadence, that helped break us down and build us back up (brain wash, as some would like to call it.) Its just amazing the psychological tools that are implemented in boot camp even in the most subtle ways, like through song, chant or poem.***
Well, I don't have facebook, or twitter, or any of the other social connection utilities I've never even heard of that are listed above me, like tumbir or lulu? Maybe I need to catch up with the times.
So real quick, my name is not actually FairRetail, well, not in the DMV world, but here in the wattpad world, I would like to leave it so. It makes me smile.
I'm extremely rusty with writing. I took a 5 year hiatus from both reading and writing during my time in the Marine Corps, then picked it up again when I studied at Berkeley and majored in English LIt and Creative Writing, though I was struggling to catch up to these kids in there. (I was a little old of a freshman at 25.)
Then the corporate world for a while...2 jobs and I was done. Didn't write anything during those 2 years.
Now I have time, and what a surprise. It's still not easy to sit down and force that story to the page (or screen) even with the time. I am still pretty new and now rusty and new. Bad combo, but I love to read so I'm looking forward to searching all over this site.
As for my stuff, it's all across the board, from inspirational spiritual shorts, to sad poems of loss. The only consistency is that there is none.
Anyway, this place is pretty awesome. That's about it for now.
