hey guyssss here's a chapter teaser for Chapter 10, which in currently working on! it should be out by the end of the week hopefully. "Right," Jack says. "Speaking of which..."
He tilts his head toward the open classroom door behind us.
"Bella's in there. Talking to some guy."
I tense, a muscle in my jaw twitching.
Something in his tone shifts. Casual. Too casual.
Sam and Parker exchange a look. They both know better than to poke that particular bear.
"Who?" I ask evenly, though my mind is spinning.
Jack shrugs, but I see his face in his mind.
Him. Out of all the people in the school, she's talking to him?
Sam clears her throat. "We're going to go to lunch."
Parker nods. "See you there."
Jack lingers just long enough to grin at me. "Try not to duel anyone before lunch."
We both know who he means by anyone.
Then he's gone too.
I turn toward the classroom.
And walk in.
The room is mostly empty now. Sunlight stretches across the desks in long, pale bands.
My eyes find them instantly.
Bella stands near the front, one hand resting lightly on a desk.
Across from her—
Familiar blonde hair.
Sharp brown eyes.
Perfect posture.
