I want you to know that whatever you’ve done, you’re in good company. The Bible has many, many examples of people who goofed up big time, but God forgave them, and still used them. They still fulfilled their divine destiny. You may have seen part of this list before:

          	Jacob was a liar.

          	Moses was a murderer.

          	Samson was a womanizer.

David was an adulterer (and a murderer).

          	Jonah ran from God.

          	Peter denied Christ.

All the disciples fell asleep while praying (and ran away when Jesus really needed them).

          	Martha worried about everything.

The Samaritan woman was divorced (more than once).

          	Mary Magdalene was demon-possessed.

          	Paul was a Christian-killer.

And so many more circumstances like this occured.

          	Jesus ate with a prostitue

He died for those sins. So if God can forgive you, you must forgive yourself!

God specializes in doing the unexpected. Our attention often tends to be drawn to flashy, celebrated, popular things (and that’s not always bad), but God finds great value in the forgotten and unseen; He chose unlikely people throughout the Bible and hand-picked them to declare His glory.

Scripture is a feast, but some of the richest passages can often be overlooked. These stories and verses probably won’t be designed on trendy wall decor or studied during your next church conference. 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT) reminds us that “all Scripture is inspired by God,” not just the passages we know and love well. Even the ones that don’t make it into sermons, Bible studies, or cross-stitch patterns are inspired by Him. There are wonderful, rich lessons we can discover from these lesser-known passages.
