          He stiffened as she approached, his expression darkening further as she looked up at the board. Excitement simmered under her skin as she scanned the list, her eyes focusing in on her name at the top. A perfect 100. The cafeteria erupted in cheers from her classmates; she knew there'd been more than a few bets by other students who'd been convinced that she'd win. 
          
          Those that bet on Ant were sorely disappointed; a fact proven by the collective groan of frustration that sounded as others cheered in the cafeteria. 
          
          "Eat that, asshole," Maddy cheered, spinning excitedly. "I told you I'd win." 
          
          Ant's jaw clenched. "I'm talking to the teacher," he muttered, clearly not believing it. 
          
          "Why, to confess that you're an idiot? Only a sore loser goes and asks why they didn't pass," Maddy teased, poking his chest with each word. "You owe me, don't try to get out of it." 
          
          Ant glared down at her, his eyes alight with frustration. "Fine," he ground out, the words seeming to hurt him physically. "By order of the bet, I owe you. What's the favour?"
          
          Maddy leaned in closer, her face inches from Ant as he scowled down at her smaller frame. "Oh, wasn't it obvious? You're the one who put the idea in my head. For the next 2 weeks, you're going to be my personal servant. And trust me, you're going to regret ever making that bet."
          
          Ant's face turned a shade darker, but he nodded, and it was just a little satisfying, watching him clench his jaw and glare at her, knowing that he was such a man of his word that Ant wouldn't break his end of the bet, even though it made his skin crawl with anger. "This isn't over, Benthos," he warned.
          
          "Of course it isn't. I haven't extracted my revenge yet." Maddy chuckled. "Remember how you got me in trouble last week for 'cheating'? Well great news. You're going to regret pissing me off when I'm through with you, baby boy."

          "Just go to sleep, you stubborn ass." She murmured against his lips. "So that I can." 
          
          "Bossy." Ant grumbled, kissing her cheek, then her forehead, before pulling her up against him and closing the laptop with his free hand. He placed it onto the bedside and yanking the duvet properly over the pair of them. "Feelin a bit better?" 
          
          "If I say yes, are you going to hold it over me?" Maddy whispered, looking up at him. 
          
          "What do I get out of doing that? The whole reason I came was to help you." Ant responded, his hinting at a bit of frustration that she'd ask.
          
           With a soft sigh, she nestled closer, the warmth of his body lulling her into a comfortable dozing state. "Then yes. A little." 
          
          Ant smiled and kissed her hand. "Night, curly." He whispered. 
          
          He seemed to relax entirely, his chest rising and falling steadily until his body slumped and locks of hair fell over his eyes. She  brushed them aside and let herself relax. It was easy, now; with the darkness surrounding them, and his gentle breaths against her cheek, and the bubble they'd created with a temporary ceasefire and enough warmth and intimacy that she might well have acknowledged her....lessening hatred for him, if only to herself.
          
          It was easy to relax now, and she decided not to fight it, because she knew that outside of this bubble, he was still him and she was still her, and at the end of the day, shared kisses and his stupid brown eyes weren't enough to change that. 
          
          But Maddy did everything in her power to ignore that, because then and there, the world could've been ending, and she wouldn't have given a damn. Because in that moment, all she wanted was to fall asleep beside him and pretend like it was normal, even if it really, really wasn't. Even if her life would have been over if her parents found them like this. Even if her heart wasn't going to handle the inevitable fallout of catching feelings for her enemy.

When you're in the editing stages and get that urge to 'edit' the length and scene for improvements ;) who wants a lil spoiler????

When your oneshot hit 63k and you're starting to wonder if it's considered a short story XD

That urge to release an unfinished chapter just so i get your feedback and the motivation to finish XD so close to releasing a new oneshot lovlies

You know guys it's actually so funny because when I first got into the deep Finntaine was my otp and I was ready to die for it, and I remember getting a few requests like "can you please do an anteline oneshot?????" from you guys and i was like alright I'l give it a try and now they are my absolute favourite baring none and nothing else

Guys I am half way through writing filthiest, most enemies to lovering one shot I think I've ever written, and I don't think you're ready for it tbh
