I watched the movie and read the book "all quiet on the western front" and [spoilers]

In the book, oh my god, i was expecting him to get out alive, he was so close, the ending destroyed me. How it was described as peaceful

In the movie, again, towards his death, the actor did such a great job just looking numb and traumatized and I cried in both. People often compare WW1 with WW2, but they were both horrible and the loss of lives was horrible.

@FatalSelene fr. like sure, the statistics says this and that, but those are loss of human lives you're comparing- it's terrible nonetheless.

@Almimo_AM It really isn't, every war has horrible casualties and it bugs me whenever people say "oh [insert war] was more brutal than [insert war]!" Like no, why are we comparing this?

I cant believe its almost been two years since my best friend got diagnosed with covid and fought for her life for atleast 4 months. Her family took down her wattpad account atleast 5 months after she passed, im not sure as i only just realized it 3 months ago. She was my friend for 5 years, we were in so many grades together and I think about it every now and then. I miss her so much. She didnt have a big following, but she did a comic version of a book called 'Forgotten'. I remember we used to call eachother as she'd draw it. I remember saying my goodbyes to her 2 days before she was gone. I wish I couldve spent more time with her. I cant read the book 'Forgotten' without thinking of her. I miss her so much.
