Okay I’m going to spoil the book for you on here since I don’t want anybody reading it on there. Basically in the book before Carters his dad (Crispin) meets his mate Dietrich and starts to become more aggressive towards Carter. He starts to care less about him and gets angry very easily at the tiniest of problems. Dietrich and Crispin don’t understand why he starts acting this way towards Carter and neither does Crispin which breaks his heart. Eventually we find out that everyone who becomes Alpha in Dietrich’s family is cursed and everyone’s curse is different. It just so happens that Dietrich and his mates curse is that Crispin won’t be able to feel for Carter when he’s around him so it makes Carter feel useless and unloved, but Dietrich is able to love Carter, which makes his mate resent him over time. They both found this out and still chose their mate bond over Carter. There’s more to the curse and their issues in Carters book though so you’ll have to read that to understand a bit more about the curse as well. Moral of the story though is that Carter deserved better than those two fucks who chose a dumb bond over the love for their own kid. At first the story started off great and adorable, but over time it just started to royally piss me off and if you read it you’ll know why. Everybody hated them by the end of their book. Carter and Sloan’s story is so amazing though and I do recommend reading that! I still recommended reading Alpha Dietrich’s and Crispins story first just to get a feel for that hatred, but it’s up to you.
