The book club managers took some time to discuss this together, and I want to start by saying there are absolutely no hard feelings. We understand that not every story is for everyone, and we would never expect anyone to read something they’re uncomfortable with.
          
          Our concern isn’t just with my book, but with how similar situations might come up with other stories in the club. While we do our best to accommodate members and avoid forcing anyone into content they’re not comfortable with, we don’t restrict themes across the club’s selections.
          
          Because of that, we have to consider the possibility that certain assignments may not be completed. Since trial reads are meant to help us ensure consistency and reliability before bringing in new members, this becomes an important factor for us.
          
          After careful consideration, we feel this may not be the best fit at this time. That said, we truly wish you the best and hope you find a group that better aligns with your preferences.
