I have Scandinavian ancestry actually. But if I told ou I was descended from Odin you'd probably laugh.
Curiously enough, I found it out through following my family tree. I got back to 12th century English nobility, descended from nobles who had intermarried with Western European royalty. And of course royalty likes to justify itself with impressive family trees. Welsh royalty claimed descent from Magnus Maximus, a Roman general, or alternatively Adam and Eve with a genealogical pedigree to prove it! My Norse ancestors claimed descent from Baldur who I believe was a son of Odin? Sorry if I've got that wrong. I wish I could tap into a bit of Odin's strength when people are horrid to me, but I fear his blood was greatly watered down by the time it got to me!;-)
