Hello Lovely Readers! 
          Surprise - I'm back! I won't even apologise for my absence because I'm sure I'll disappear again in the future and I'm also sure you all expect it of me by now anyway, so all I'll say is I HAVE been writing in the background (or trying to), and I'm very happy to finally bring you a new chapter. 
          For anyone who also writes or have other creative hobbies, do you ever find you create rules or expectations for yourself, get stumped because of those rules, and then suddenly realise the rule doesn't have to exist? That was me struggling over the start of the latest chapter, until I suddenly realised I didn't HAVE to push through writing the boring bit, I could just cull it and move on! It was a very exciting moment when I realised that! 
          We are starting to get to the meaty parts of tS&tS which I am very excited for, and hopefully that will spur me forwards with writing too! I am still determined to finish writing this book within 1 Calendar Year (I do realise it's July and we are on chapter 4, don't look at me like that) and I'm so grateful to have you all with me for the journey!

Hello Lovely Readers! 
          My question of the day - how 'open door' do you like your regency romances? In my head, the scale goes: 
          1 - 'Door? What door? I'm too far away to see a door!' to 5 - 'Imma just take a peek through this door for a moment' to 10 - 'Door? What door? I'm basically in bed with the protagonists!'
          I would say that the Humphrey Chronicles thus far are about a 3 on that scale, with some kissing and ~sensations~ but nothing overt happening on the page. HOWEVER, there are some upcoming characters (maybe in book 4, but you didn't hear that from me ;) ) that might be better illustrated with a bit more... direct romance... and I wanted to get your thoughts on the matter! I will never be a 10/10 on the open door romance scale (nothing but praise for the writers that are!), but I'm curious whether as an audience where you would usually read between on the scale? Let me know!

Hello Lovely Readers! 
          I wanted to take a moment to thank you all once again for all your support for the Humphrey Chronicles, even when I take unplanned sabbaticals! There are a few milestones that the series has reached over the past couple of months, and I wanted to take a moment to celebrate them with you all: 
          - DohD reached 30K reads! 
          - aPE reached 20K reads (already?!)! 
          - L&R reached 7.5K reads!
          - And the series as a whole is now over 175K reads which is just... unfathomable! 
          Thank you all so much for your support on this series and these characters - it means so, so much to me! 
          Now, an update and a couple of questions! The next few months will hopefully see more progress of tS&tS - my aim will be for a new chapter every 1-2 weeks, with the overall goal to finish the book this year. At the same time, I'm also going to be re-writing Husband Wanted offline! The series, characters, and even my writing style has grown so much since I started publishing HistFic on Wattpad, and I want to take the time to update it and resolve some plotholes. Is there anything you still want answered from book 1? Would you want to read a re-written version? Let me know!

          Well... Apologies for my unprompted absence! I am well, life is well, and thank you so much to everyone who reached out to check on me - I appreciate the support so much! The long and the short of it is that I psyched myself out about book 4 - too excited, then too much pressure, then no creativity - but I have forced myself to shake that off and finally put fingers to keyboard! Chapter 2 of tS&tS is now live! xx Flo 
          p.s. I would appreciate if we all read that title acronym tS&tS like we're trying to coax a cat over hehe

Hello Lovely Readers! 
          Thank you all for adding The Spitfire & The Scoundrel (S&S) to your reading lists, and for checking out the early chapters I've posted. The official first chapter will be published on February 14th (felt fitting) and I'm sooooo excited for you all to read it! When I started the Humphrey Chronicles, Matt's character wasn't truly developed. He was comedic relief, the outlandish younger brother to contrast the rest of his family, but over the last few books he has grown to be one of my favourites! I am so EXCITED for you all to see his journey unfold and I hope you are too :) 
          As a side note, his love interest Beatrice goes by 'Bea', and I'm curious as to how you all would pronounce that nickname. Bee-a or Bee? Personally, I read it as Bee, but I think I'm probably in the minority...

Hello Lovely Readers! 
          Thank you all so much for your love towards A Proper Education - now that I've taken a few days to decompress, I wanted to share my thoughts, feelings, and thanks with you all.
          When I started aPE - and I want to preface this by saying NOW I love them - I didn't think it was going to be my favourite. I thought Simon was too GOOD of a character and that I was going to struggle to make him struggle. I wasn't excited, and I was a bit overwhelmed by how excited so many of my readers were for his story. Mostly due to all of your support, I persevered, and I can honestly say (particularly the 2nd half) is one of my favourite things I've ever written. I'm proud of there story, proud of myself for finishing it (even if it took a metric 'forever') and so thankful for all your (supportive) pressure! 
          In particular, there are a few people whose comments and check-ins really meant a lot to me over the past 12 ish months, and I wanted to give them a quick shout out! Special thanks to @Anneke776 my unofficial editor, @Demiwitch_hunter for their amazing comments, @Geekiechicforall13 my writer buddy, @lee_na_hp for always checking in so kindly, and @Ash1707 for sticking with me for so long! I'm sure I've forgotten someone (feel free to call me out in the comments haha) but please know that I still check every notification and grin at every vote, comment, or poll response like it's my first one!!! 
          A Proper Education ended up being a love letter to perfectionists and parentified elder siblings, to carers and those left behind after loss. I hope that if you see yourself in any of these characters or their stories that you know you aren't alone. 
          Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, and I hope you all join me for the utter mischief that will be Matt's story :D
