The Butterfly and Her Midnight Rain. (An Old Poem)
The Right Love, The Wrong Time.
The Right Whispers, Lost in the Chime.
The Right Promise, A Fragile Line.
I’ll still Love You.
Even if the Universe tells Me that You can never be Mine.
For You gave Me a purpose.
A will to Live.
Hence for You there is nothing, that I couldn’t give.
I’ll split the sky asunder
If it is for You my Butterfly, I wouldn’t hesitate going six feet under.
You dance in light, I drown in shade,
A wisteria breeze, a bond mislaid.
Yet even as the stars deny,
My love won’t wane, it won’t comply.
Should fate be cruel, should time be unkind,
Still, your name lingers in my mind.
My Butterfly, if only you knew—
Even in death, I’d follow you.
I never knew when, I never knew how,
But with You, I could never do without.
Like Midnight Rain, so cold, so still,
Yet hiding warmth, a quiet will.
You drift alone, yet stand so tall,
A silent storm, a distant call.
I tease, I smile, a playful air,
But wonder if You’re even there.
Like Midnight Rain, so far, so near,
Why do You drown but never fear?
If only once, You’d turn to see,
Perhaps You’d know—you steady me.
So even though, My death is near,
Losing You is the only thing I fear.
Even if I push You and leave You too,
I’m afraid I’ll still be in love with You.

Note: The death part from Shinobu's verse refers to the poison if anyone was wondering.
