I shake my head and more tears begin to fall. He sighs, exasperated.
“I wish you wouldn’t cry.”
“I wish you would die.”
He tilts his head to one side and gives me a sad smile. “You don’t mean that.”
I don’t. and I don’t even know why I said it because he knows me better than that. Knew me better than that.
