Everett Donovan didn't just lose one person - she lost her whole family. Her parents, her brother, her little sister - she lost them all in a chance event, a fire that spread rapidly from one house to hers, something she couldn't stop even if she wanted to. They all died - and Ever died with them. 

She wasn't the loving, happy, naive girl she once was anymore - the girl that trusted and let everyone in. No, she was the opposite. She pushed people away, guarding her emotions as much as she could. She partied by night, fought by day - all to keep the painful memories of her family away.

But when she moves to her Grandmother's town to finish her last year of High School, she comes across someone she never anticipated - someone who's not willing to let her go, no matter how many times she pushes him away.
