I retired in 2012 after being a physician for 43 years. I was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Germany for more than 37 years before moving to South Carolina. Since retirement, I have lived in  Asheville, NC. I wrote several of these stories as a student in The Great Smokies Writing Program at the University of North Carolina Asheville.  My wife and I spend about half of our time roaming around the country in our Airstream. How lucky can you get?
